Neo-ecology

Social change towards more sustainability

Researchers at the Zukunftsinstitut have been working on the topic of "megatrends" for over 20 years. Megatrends are deep currents of change that influence all levels of society in the long term: Economy and politics as well as science, technology and culture. Megatrends are changing the world - slowly, but fundamentally and in the long term. The Zukunftsinstitut describes one of these megatrends as "neo-ecology". It extends into every area of our everyday lives and influences personal purchasing decisions, social values and corporate strategies.

What does the neo-ecology megatrend have to do with the FAGSI container construction method?

The following sub-aspects defined by the Zukunftsinstitut - "Sharing Economy", "Green Tech", "Direct Trade", "Zero Waste" and "Sense Economy" - show that FAGSI has been living a sustainability concept for almost 40 years that is more relevant today than ever.

Sub-aspects of neo-ecology

  1. Sharing Economy
  2. Green Tech
  3. Direct Trade
  4. Zero Waste
  5. Sense economy

The "sharing economy" is a concept in which people share goods and services instead of owning them - according to the motto "using instead of owning". A well-known example of this concept is "car sharing". However, it has also spread to the business world and has become a new value creation model. We at FAGSI have been applying this concept for almost 40 years. Our customers use their building for exactly as long as they actually need it - FAGSI then takes the containers back and makes them available to another customer for temporary use.

The term "Green Tech" refers to technologies that endeavour to avoid environmental pollution from the outset, reduce it or even repair damage that has already occurred. The FAGSI ProEnergy product line in particular was developed for this purpose - it is energy-optimised and can be easily coupled with renewable energies, making it highly efficient and economical.

Direct trade is a further development of fair trade. The main aim is to keep the product's journey to the customer as transparent and short as possible. Quality containers from FAGSI are manufactured in the ALHO Group. This eliminates cost-intensive middlemen, which corresponds to the principle of "direct trade".

Zero waste" is another pioneering approach to sustainable consumption. The idea behind it: Instead of laboriously disposing of and recycling packaging waste, for example, not producing any waste in the first place. The construction industry in particular is responsible for the majority of waste produced worldwide. Container buildings from FAGSI can make a significant contribution here. The individual containers are manufactured industrially with optimised use of resources. Thanks to prefabrication of up to 90%, waste on the construction site is reduced to a minimum.

Entirely new dimensions of value creation beyond thinking in terms of growth and profit maximisation are also increasingly coming to the fore, such as added social value, satisfied employees and social progress. Companies that want to continue to be successful in the long term must live these new values. As a family business, FAGSI is committed to its locations and, as an employer, bears a high level of responsibility for the people in the company. The company's actions towards its employees are characterised by respect and consideration. FAGSI offers everyone - regardless of position or function - a high level of social security. Personal and professional development is promoted through training and further education programmes.
